Forgotten God by Francis Chan is an easy read, but a lot to digest. As I read, I'm challenged not to stifle the Holy Spirit, but to listen and obey throughout the large and small moments of my day. I'm challenged to have faith and to examine the motivation behind my asking in faith. I'm challenged to read Scripture and ask for His help understanding, meditating on, and applying it instead of trying to fit Scripture into what I've been taught. I'm thankful that He already dwells within me and pray that I will practice being present with Him.
Holy Spirit, thank you for living in me. Thank you for daily helping me put sin to death and submit to my Creator. As I teach, talk with students, and engage with others around me, work through me. I have nothing to offer but willingness to follow your direction. I desire to know you and to help others know you.
